Jacob is still with Alice in 1841...are you sure the child death in 1836 is the son of the same Jacob Smethurst...???

I have never done this, but I believe you can obtain a microfiche of the original through LDS family history centres.

You could try Stockport Heritage Library I think they may hold the parish records for St Mary's, Cheadle. The staff are extremely helpful.

I would think that in the early 1800's there was only one parish church in Cheadle. If this is so, then it is likely to be St. Mary's.

Have an ancestor Jacob Smethurst born app 1800 Lancashire?He married a Harriet Chorton 21 Dec 1823 Cheadle[church unknown]has possibly 2 sons John 1828 Stockport and David 1832 .Harriet died Oct 1832 Cheadle.Jacob married Alice Simpson in Bury Nov 1833 and had further children ,but on a search I have found Albert buried Bury 1836 age 4 son of Jacob Smethurst and Jane Thomason.Could he have been illigitimate?
I need to find Jacobs marriage to Harriet and Alberts place of burial and a possible birth also baptisms for John and David.I have the facts from Family Search but need to find the original entries.Can anyone help me please?
