In Scotlands People Pre 1855 Birth Records.
Does anyone know if the witnesses named on these birth records are the names of witnesses to the marriage of the parents?Hopefully and not the witnesses to the birth of the child.

Civil registration in Scotland dint start till 1855 so what its probably parish records of baptisms you are seeing. I cant think that any witnesses on those are other than those at the baptism
