Obviously, this is only applicable where notices of deaths have been posted in the Press.

The majority aren't..........................

Try phoning the cemeteries in the area one by one. If she was buried in the area one of them should have her details.

I tried googling and guessing at a middle name ... Irene ... Ivy ...

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.page/board/trying_to_find/thread/1202789

'nee forrest evans' ?

the 1932 marriage suggested there seems a little early for someone born c1918 ... do you know when and whom she married, and do you know of or have you looked for children?

you said she was 'the daughter of my grandfathers brothers (name not known)'

have you not looked up your grandfather's birth and his family in the 1901 or 1911 census to identify his brother or brothers ? it just seems that the information you have is a little vague ...

the page Amokavid gave looks very promising ... but there are no births with that son's name with mother's name Evans 1930 to 1970 in any location like you have described ( they are in Durham, Neath, Carmarthen, Cheshire and Stockport ).

if you want to give us your grandfather's details - name and where and when born as best you know - we can always do a little Irish census checking for you :-)

( assuming he was born by 1911 and his brother or brothers would also have been )
