Glad I´m not alone.
Thought I was just doing something stupid (which wouldn´t be unusual)

Exactly.
That has also happened with me, and I sit and scratch my head and pull faces.

I tried several times yesterday using the old method to find a baptism.
Found what I was looking for, entered the batch number & parents & surname.
I was then redirected to the new site which informed me that there were no matches,so I re entered the search details for the baptism I already had & again, no matches.
How can that be, when I had already found it on the old search?

I know how to get to the old site, and can search there, BUT when I try to search by batch the results are in the new format.
So, unfortunately, no it does not help.
Sorry, Jill and Howard.

If you go to the Search page on this link https://www.familysearch.org/ and look between the 'What's new?' and Civil War field you will see 'Go to previous site' in a blue box. Click on that and it takes you to the old search site. I still like to use this aswell.

Hope this helps.

I see what you mean

I searched for something I knew and in the record from the search results I clicked on the batch number and entered a surname and searched

that took me to the search results at

https://www.familysearch.org

Not completely convinced by the advanced search method.
It would not give e.g. Hilman and Hillman if I entered the other one, but gave results for both child and parent, counting those as 2 matches.
But thanks for the information - I suppose I should have read the guide to the new site.

you can search by batch number at the new site

https://www.familysearch.org/

click on 'advanced search' and there is a box for the batch number

you can also select the 'relationship' and then put in the names of parents or a spouse

I am getting used to it :-)

Joy,
The link gives you the 'old site'
But when you put in a Batch Number to do a search for e.g. all Smiths with Father David at a specific location you end up in the new site (or I do, and I assume wisechild does also). And the new site does not appear to list in such a friendly fashion as the old site.
I want to stay in the old site for batch search results.

Has the IGI been taken off??
I used to be able to find a batch number, put in the parents names & the surname & get a list of all the children baptised to those parents in the church that the batch number refers to.
Now, I do that, press send & get referred to the new site.
It may be my age but I find the new site difficult to navigate.
