That's great.
I hope you have a smashing time sharing information.

My husband has recently made contact with descendants of father-in-law's uncle and aunt,, - a brother and sister who moved from Ireland to Rhodesia and Derbyshire.
Father-in law (93) is delighted to be in e mail contact with 2 cousins ( both in 90s) who he never knew about.

Just got to find a link from the people who went to USA now........

Kathlyn Report 6 Sep 2011 17:02

I discovered that 3 my grandfathers cousins emigrated to the States, one about 1909 and the other two after WW1. I managed to find their emigration info on line. plus info from the American census. A very kind person on this site found me three possible addresses for decendents.

I put together a very short tree and a covering letter and posted them off in April. One was returned, "not known at this address", one replied but could not connect with my sent info, and one did not reply.

Well, the one that did not reply, has just emailed me, well his niece has, and we have a match. I am over the proverbial moon as this is the paternal side of my family that I have had real problems with.

We have agreed to exchange info and so my tree will grow. I can`t remember who the person was who found the USA addresses for me, but I am so very grateful, thanks a million.
