Wish to know about Police Officers in Owston Ferry in 1901, 1911.

Michelle...Given the size of the place I doubt it would run even into double figures if that..it only had a pop of about a 1000 1901 not many more now...probably only had the Village "Bobby"

Rumour has it my g.g.grandmother had all 3 of her illegit children to the local policeman.... clutching at straws to try to identify him. Might have been based in a nearby village instead of OF.

I suspect this might not be possible really. The only remote chance is if she was living next door to one maybe!

If you use the crowle advertiser and go to the years around 1901 then on your browser use the ( find on this page ) function and enter pc as search criteria their are several police working that area that are named you can then cross reference them to see if any are possibles?

I think as Epworth was the place where most court cases where then it may be likely that that was where the local nick was?

don't get to carried away with some of the stories though as i did :-D
