Yes, you will be able to view the orignal registration of the marriage which you can view, download and or print. The page will have other marriages on it.

The registration will give you both parents of the couple, not just the father as on English and Welsh certs.

You will also be able to continue to view the image on later visits to the site, even if you have no credits.

Hi GlitterBaby

Thanks for that information. The marriage was in 1927 so is 84 years ago. So I should be able to view the marriage certificate on line if I pay a credit. Is this right?

I have not had much dealing with Scotlandspeople as I have been using Ancestry.

Thanks for your advise.

Scotlandspeople

You can not view online births within the last 100 years but it does give you the reference details to order the cert.

I think it is 75 years for marriages and 50 years for deaths.

So any thing that falls before the cut off point can be viewed and downloaded online. Anything within those dates has to be ordered

£7 for 30 credits. One credit or more to view search results and a further 5 credits per image. That is for every search you do. So if you set your search ranges correctly then you could possibly view 5 certs/records for the £7

Oh I didn't know you needed to pay to view the record. I thought it was to view the certificate. I don't know what you mean by is it 75 years? Please explain Thanks for replying.

You need credits on scotlandspeople to view any record

Is it 75 years for marriages if so you need to buy the cert or see if someone is going to the records office
