Hi all.
According to my grandfathers marriage cert in 1917 he was a soldier. I know nothing about his service in the army so is there anywhere i can begin to find any information plz

Ancestry has the surviving WW1 service records (About 70% destroyed in 1940). Also WW1 medal rolls and Pension records.

If you give me as much information you know about his birth / where he might have lived I can have a go at looking up ancestry for you if you would like?

Most certs of soldiers have their regiment and or service number in occupation column,

The details should help you find him, you may not find his service record if for WW1 but you could find his medal card from the info

If he was still a serving soldier after 1920 then his records could be found, use the link below for after 1920 but you need to be next of kin and it cost's abt £30

Was his wife Constance Alice Biddlecombe, if so pm me your email address and i will send you the record but it's 20 pages long so would have to send it tomorrow as i got to go out ,

or you could ask another member if they have the time
