That's interesting Jax, haven't seen that one

Ancestry also has a living relatives search which is cheaper than 192.com

I dont know how good it is though...I tend to search on there as it gives the first part of the post code but does not tell you what year it relates to...so you could end up paying for a 2002 address?

You do sometimes get addresses and tel nos on the free search. Its not consistent though.

I sent ,by PM about 5 addresses with tel nos yesterday to an enquiry re Isle of Wight. certainly wouldn't pay for them, plus not at their prices !! :-(

I had directed the enquirer to www.192 but they couldn't access it for some reason

I feel now that if someone asks...just ignore them and hope someone offers.

I think the thread you are referring to...two unknown members have now offered to help and it looks like the pair of them have been given the details....which means both will be using their credits?

I know Jax - this is why I felt I should double-check. I think it's a step too far really and gives people the wrong impression. You can't blame them for asking for lookups really can you?

There are people on this site who must buy these credits for the use of helping others??

Although do not advertise the fact, but it makes us look stupid when these said people then reply

Contact details sent please check your inbox ect

Thank goodness for that! I am sure most people are unaware of this and think it is a subscription site - understandably - but I don't think it's fair to ask for lookups once you are aware that it isn't.
Thanks Lindsey and Glitterbaby

I would appreciate being told if I am giving the right info to other members. There are occasional requests for 192.com lookups as we all know. I usually point out that it is a pay-per-view site, not subscription - but is this correct??
Thanks gang.
