thankyou for the advice jax, i had searched that before posting on here but its a little hard to research the parent of someone when you have no names and also no mothers maiden name on the previous birth certificate, i no the family originate from scotland so i guess i now need to transfer my searchs to the scottish records?? thank you also for the hint on the board name i would have remained as unknown forever. hehe

You can find births marriages and deaths from 1837 to about 1950 on freebmd for England and Wales but looks like his parents were not born in the country

Jan he is my great-grandfather the family wasnt very close for one reson or another so my grand dad dosent no any information on his grand parents which is who im searching for? i thought by searching leslie i would find his parents name it sound like your census search could be a match if only i could find out janes maiden name?! if it is reagan then i no i have the right family sorry im not much help finding it very difficult. :-\
