Trying to trace 2 relatives born 1886 and 1889. Have found the records of there births (and marriages) on here but because it is before 1912 it doesn't give information on the mothers maiden name etc.

From the information given on the birth record on here is it possible to get a copy of a birth certificate?

You will need the volume number, the page number and the name and quater in which the person was born together with the year ...
But you can get it from BMD free

I dont have access here and cant remember what they show

If you want to give the details it may be possable to find them with there parents on the 1901 or 1911 census

if you want to purchase the cert you would do best to use GRO

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

£9.25 each

And as Jax says we can look which will then save you the cost of the certificates

If you can post on here you presumably have at least Standard membership (like I do) and you can also look at the Free Birth, Marriage and Death Records. They give all the available information, but are not indexed, so if you have no idea of the date FreeBMD is better.

Sarah, the answer is Yes.
