Do you know if your Grandmother had siblings - that may help to trace the correct birth.

Have you searched the Irish 1911 census (free)? http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/ in case you can find her father in Cork.

Her marriage certficate will list her father's occupation. Would this help in ruling some of them in or out?

please could someone help me find my grandmother's birth. I know when she married and when she died, but cannot find her birth. On her marriage cert age is full. She died in 1945 at the age of 29 but asking at the records office there are 5 possible matches, all with the same father's name (Patrick Lenihan). I was advised to find out her mother's name but don't know where start. This is the info i have on her: we think born 1915/ 16 Margaret Linehan, we think probably Cork, married in Shanbally, living in Barnahely at the time of marriage as a servant. She maried David O'Mahony in 1940. Her father was called Patirick. She died in Kinsale District in 1945. Please could someone help to find her birth.
ALLISON :-)
