Barber family over seas

Hi folks

My investigations have taken me into new ground in Canada, the web sites that I have had a look at will not allow me to search anything that is younger than 120 years ago. I need to research family ties from around 1940 -1960 in the area of British Columbia.

Are there any free sites that I can use to find out births etc that any one knows of

Thanking everyone in anticipation

This site has British Columbia deaths up to 1987 but births only up to 1903 and marriages 1932:

This site has addresses and telephone numbers in Canada, I just tried Barber in Vancouver, BC and there were 19.
