I have recently come across a marriage that took place in a Catholic Priory
in Liverpool in 1857 between Patricuim (Patrick) Quinlan & Annan (Ann) Buckley.
His father is Jacobi presumably Jacob but her father is Joannis.
Is that John or James? Is there anyone that can advise me please?

Jacobi is James (cf Jacobites = followers of King James) and Joannis is John

Thank you everyone. It was the father's names I was unsure of.

So Jacobi is James and Joannis is John.

That will help a lot.
