I am going to the National Archives at Kew on 18th October, what sort of info can I look at please.....eg. Newspapers? Navy records?

There's just so much at Kew, it's good to have an idea of what you want to look at before you go.

You can't view newspapers, but you can view Naval records(WW1 and before, although later for Merchant Navy). Some naval records are online at the documentsonline site, so it's worth looking at that first. You can download anything on there for free at Kew, whereas you have to pay £3-50 for each record if you download them at home.

You can also get free access to Ancestry and FindMyPast at Kew.
