Just a silly question really but can anyone tell me why I cant find my grandad on genes 1901 cencus but he is on the cencus as a friend found him on ancestry.

Not uncommon. The census on each site will have been transcribed by different transcribers who may have interpreted what they read (Spellings ect) differently.

I found him on FMP aswell but they have not transcribed him and as GR seem to share the same records that could be the reason why

In the past I have tried to get FMP to add my husbands grandmother and although they say they will they never have so I have given up now

Just as an experiment try searching for this chap via Genes Platinum 1901 census:

Charles Taylor born 1878 Compton, Sussex.

He appears 2 lines before Archibald Arthurs on the original census form.

Thank you both for your help.
I found the census by typing in the lady at the top , Ethal Frost, but that woundnt have helped me if I hadnt seen the census from my friend.
Also do you know if you can see the previous census form when you look at them.

I don't believe that you can via Genes. One of the problems with Genes Platinum I'm afraid.

I just tried to report it on FMP and it comes up error ???

I know when I have changed others on FMP it changes on GR also
