I am tracing the BARTY family tree. My family is from various areas of Perthshire, Perth, Scotland.
Barty's are in England and Scotland and around the world. If you get in touch with me and tell me a bit more about your Barty's at [email protected]

This is quite a handy quick demographic guide as well

http://gbnames.publicprofiler.org/

It compares the distribution of surnames in the 1881 census with the 1998 Electoral Roll.

I wrote to Angela advising how to get back to her threads and she has just requested access to my tree.

I have explained that I have no connection to her family and to come back to her threads.............

Cushney is almost exclusively Eastry, in Kent.

Try putting the names in freebmd; select All Types and put in a range of dates from, say, 1838 till 1900. I have done that for Barty, and the name seems to most popular in Boston and Holbeach (both in Lincolnshire) and Hoo in Kent.

Can anyone help me find out where the surnames Barty ( grandmothers maiden name on Fathers side) and Cushney ( grandmothers maiden name on Mothers side) come from. :-)
