Can you recommend a site to search for someone Naturalized before 1861?

Where can I find the Rules of Naturalization for immigrants at that time?

Have tried Googling but not sure which gives info I need. They are expensive to test. Has anyone tried Internationalarchives.org?

The National Archives has some naturalisation records.

http://nationalarchives.gov.uk

Not the easiest site to navigate but it is free.

Good luck

National Archives page 'Looking for records of a naturalised Briton' which has lots of useful information and a facility that name searches the relevant sections of the NA catalogue.

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/records/looking-for-person/naturalised-britons.htm?WT.lp=rg-3162

Also has a link to the in depth research guide that may answer your question regarding 'rules'.

Good luck
