was wondering if there is anywhere i can find a marriage that may have took place in Germany . i have googled but not much luck .

There is no central GRO as there is in the UK. Records regarding birth, death and marriages are normally kept by the Standesamt (the municipality offices) where the event occurred, so you need to know exactly where the event took place.

Most cities have websites at www.(nameofcity).de where you can find the contact information for the appropriate Standesamt. The request for the birth or death certificate should be done in writing and contain as much information as possible, including proof of your identity and your legal right to obtain the document. I understand it is difficult, if not impossible for non blood relatives to obtain certs.

Another option is to contact the German Consulate or Embassy for assistance. for the UK this is

There are also some commercial services on the internet that will help you with this for a fee. I found a US based one but they wanted $75.

I don't have any first hand experience but found the above by Googling.
