I have done my book, but hoping to publish. You can do it in word and put it into book format, so that it opens on landscape like a book and you can re do it and re read it, that way you can save it and print it of, if you just want it for yourself and you can put borders on the edges to make notes on your work or special places that you need to re check information. I found it very useful
hope that helps for now. :-D

Thanks Andrew. I am on Ancestry and have taken a look but I cant see anywhere they give advice about books but I am proably missing it.
They suggest you buy a programme called Ancestry family tree maker, its quite expensive I wonder if its from there.
If I get other suggestions etc or find there is anything on GR I will add on here.

You can use the following programme which produces a report in the form of a Booklet:

You would need to download the programme which is free from the internet:

Family Tree Builder supported by My Heritage.

I use this prgramme and find it very useful.

If you have your tree on genes, you should be able to download it and then import (upload) into the My Heritage programme.

A work colleague had a book printed from her tree on Ancestry UK that she gave to her parents as a christmas present, it was very well presented and I would imagine exactly what you are looking for. I currently have my information in a ring binder but would be interested if GR did the same service as Ancestry UK.

Has anyone converted the information that have collated into a book format with stories , photos, family tree information.

I have made photo books of weddings etc but it does not allow for much text. I want it with lots of texts and occasional photos, and made to be easy reading. I did not really want to just do a word document in a ring binder. I cannot seem to find any templates or anything.

I know their are online publishers etc but I need a start point

Can anyone advise me? Thanks
