Think it says Germany. Just to show the country she was born?

I think Andrew is right - a couple of pages later the enumerator has put 'Ches' (Cheshire?) next to birthplace of Stalybridge.

She was born in Gelsenkirchen, Prussia. Just one of the many Durham miners' children born in Germany at that time.
