My apologies for not getting back here - work got in the way. :-|

Our site is mainly for those with Scottish Ancestors but we also have a pretty good knowledge of Mining, Military, Irish and Overseas records.
We're free to join but we do have a subscription section - only £8 per annum but we can save our members that amount in the first week - and as we have a copyright licence we can post certs freely.
We also know how to get the best out of pay to view sites like www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
It's an excellent resource but can prove expensive if you don't know your way round it. We've learned by our mistakes and I reckon we can get maximum information for minimum cost!

DF, perfectly safe to come back!! Just follow the links and we can validate your application!
I don't think the emails were in themselves dodgy. To do a mass email involves sending the emails in blocks and some mail providers then view them as junk! They are because we have sent so many but the content is purely informative!

On the migration issue - it's been delayed yet again. :-( New date is now 7th November 2011 so we live in hope.....

Is this a site for the family name Scot, or for people who have Scottish research interests? (not that I have either, but its always interesting to know)

Hope the move goes smoothly - just remember to keep the kettle and cups prominently for the 'muscle men'. :-D

Our site (http://scotfamtree.11.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=24880&highlight=) is with Forumer and is being migrated to a new server so is currently offline.
There have been problems for several weeks now but we stuck with it, thinking it would get better!!
We were then assured that all would be fixed on 31st Oct - well, four days later and still no site!

We have managed to set up a reserve site http://scotfamtree.b1.jcink.com/index.php?act=idx and have attempted to contact our members but some emails have "bounced" back.

Please use the reserve site http://scotfamtree.b1.jcink.com/index.php?act=idx
Just register with your existing SFT user name and we can do the rest.
If you have forgotten your user name let me know and we'll get back to you.

New members are also very welcome! Let me know though or we won't know who you are! I'll not be online till about 2pm.

Those members who have uploaded their trees can still access the database and it's working just fine!

GR, hope this is okay to post here. I'm not advertising the forum, just trying to contact some of our members.
