Hi, this might be far too early but in 1911 living at 17 Kendall Raod, Colchester we have the following:

STAFF, Walter James Head Married M 31 1880 Dairyman Starston Norfolk

STAFF, Avelina Wife Married
3 years F 37 1874 Assisting In The Business Colchester Essex

JORL, Eliza Ann Servant Single F 35 1876 Servant Colchester Essex

1911 - 17 Kendall Rd, Colchester, Essex

Walter James STAFF married age 31, born 1880, occ Dairyman, born Starston, Norflok
Avelina STAFF wife, Married 3 years - one child born which died - age 37 (1874) Assisting in business - born Colchester, Essex
Eliza Ann JORL Servant single 35 (1876) Colchester, Essex.

On the original, they both say they are the Head. Obviously an equal partnership!!

By the way, ot might be possible to find occupants 1911, but maybe that is too early to be of use?

There isn't as far as I know - I have only heard of a few available in the area where I live. If you get in touch with the staff they might well have a look for you. However, I am unsure where the Colchester archives are kept - have tried a google search but no joy!
Hopefully another member will be able to advise.

Thanks brummiejan, so there no way of doing it online, as I live in Belfast and our main library wouldn't have English electoral registers.

You have to look at the electoral register - these are normally kept at the nearest main library.
In 1920 you will see men over 21 and women over 30.

Is there anyway of finding out who lived at an address 1920, 17 Kendall Rd., Colchester.
