does anyone know if the father on a marriage cert under fathers name and surname, would always say if he is deceased.
One of mine does but another, who I think may be deceased, does not.

No not always

It depended on whether the registrar asked or not

Not always. It depends how the question was asked when the marriage was being arranged, i have some certs where the dad isnt shown as deceased but he had died years prior the marriage,

Also some dads names are made up or are another male family member because the party didnt want to own up to being illegitimate, they often state deceased so as toexplain why no dad is at the wedding

Here's two siblings who were wed 6 w apart, but are consecutive entries in the rego.
