I've managed to trace my Felton family from Essex back to 1802 but is there anyway i can go back further?

I've googled Walter Belchamp parish records but came up with zilch :(

I think it's Belchamp Essex and not Walter Belchamp

Have you considered contacting the local family history to see if they have any parish record transcriptions of the local area?-jl

Having looked to see where Belchamp Walter is situated, the parish of Sudbury is mentioned and family search has Feltons in Sudbury in the 17th and 18th century. -jl

Looking at Feltons in the 1841 census there seem to be several living in the parishes of Gestingthorpe and Bulmer both of which are within 2 miles of the centre of Belchamp Walter. So if you have access to Essex Ancestors then those parishes would be a good place to look. Suffolk parishes are also close and Sudbury and Long Melford are only 4 miles away.

http://www.esfh.org.uk/ has four members searching for Feltons so they might be contactable for help. I am not sure if you need to join ESFH though.
