Can anyone tell me what a Journeyman Baker was?

I understand the Baker. It was the occupation given for my g-grandad.

Also I am trying to trace his mother but she only shows up on the 1881 Census as the Head. Cannont trace her Birth, marriage etc details.

Her name was Jemmina Oldrey born 1831 in Beer, Devon - if anyone can help? Oldrey was her married name.

Can you help again?

Looking at the details of Jemima & William they had a son William and daughter Jane.
The son William married a Sarah Jane Small born 1899 -1947.
I hope it is a coincedence that his wife and Sister were known by the same name and born around the same time and the same surname.

If your able to, can you help me out with Sarah Jane Small!

What makes this more interesting is I have a copy of a photo of William, Sarah and family. You want to bring them alive to talk to.

A journeyman of any description is one who was paid by the day - from the French for day as in Le Jour or La Journee-jl

Not confused, just found original notes I took from my Nan, and have Sarah as a Small.

Also found a few other details that don't match either.

At least I'm not going mad.
