You could try a search here. This site lists all those who served at Trafalgar

Also try a search of the National Archives Catalogue. Just put the surname in and use ADM as the reference to search

Hi to all you incredibly knowledgeable people.

There has been a tradition in my father's family that one of his ancestors was a sailor at the time of Nelson, or possibly on his ship. Family legends tend to get embroidered but there may just be a grain of truth in this.

Can anyone suggest how I could research on the internet the names of sailors in the British Navy at the beginning of the 19th century?
