Does anyone know where i can look up history of a building?

Have you tried the library in the town where the building is situated? If you don't live close by then you could google for the email address of the library and ask if they have any documents that would help you.

You haven't mentioned its presumed age.

If it was a residential building, then census might help. Even if it wasn't, the occupations of those living nearby might give some indication of the prosperity of the area.

The Library/Archives as suggested by Kath might have old maps showing it which could be of interest.

It was originally a manor house but now a small hotel/bar/resturant.
First mention is in the Doomsday book in 1086.

Have you tried contacting the current occupiers, as it is a business?

They can sometimes provide some info.

A building mentioned in 1086 and still standing? Hard to believe!

I know the current owner. He comes in every day. I just wanted to maybe see if there is anything to add to our history booklet.

Would you like to see if we can come up with anything?
Sometimes it is how you google that comes up with different results.
