Where does it list all this, flick? It's so long since I was a free member I've forgotten.

A free member can have a tree on GR.

A free member cannot initiate contact with another member, nor can he/she post on the message boards

A free member cannot share his/her GR tree or view anyone else's on GR

Only paying members can view other trees.
There are other ways you can allow a free member to see your tree.
You could send them a Gedcom which they can open with a free program available from Familysearch,to name just one.

Just have a go, get her to join as a free member and start a tree with her name only. Take it from there. What can she lose?

As a free member she cant contact you first .you have to contact her then she can reply.

I think she has to have a tree contact for you to pick her up,but then as a free member she cant start her own tree

I may be wrong though on point 2 :-D

A relative in Aus who wishes to view my GR tree, but not get involved in research therefore if she:-

1) Joins as a free member
2 )Contacts me via the site to open my tree
3 )Can then view my tree

Is this correct ?
