Hello,

This is my 3rd attempt to post message :-| I could blame the drink but I do not think my Coffee or Tea where that strong seems they went to some great void somewhere

Hope you all had a peaceful christmas and have a lovely new year

I have had a reply from Staffordshire records office about highfield PB seems there is a mistake on the original census form below is part of e-mail if anyone else iinterested

I would expect PB on a census to stand for Parliamentary Borough and Sedgley was part of Wolverhampton Parliamentary Borough. However the positioning on the page is a bit odd. I have looked through the whole enumeration district and the address ‘Highfield’ and the other addresses in this district are all recorded above the column heading ‘place’ rather than in the column below. This appears to be a mistake made by the census enumerator and it does not happen for the preceding or following enumeration districts. I would therefore think that the addresses have been recorded in the wrong place on the form and the ‘PB’ is used simply to record that Highfield and the rest of this area are within the Parliamentary Borough of Wolverhampton.

I'd been looking at that as well GlitterBaby. Just a thought - Parish Boundary?

Irene Mary might like to contact the Staffs Archives and see if they can clarify.
