it was not uncommom for some one to have 20 pluss children back in the days.
hubby nanna had 21 children and most of them also died

lack of food and illness calsed most death in infantcy

The info should be accurate as far as the person completing the form knew, but I doubt it was checked. I haveseen entries where most of the children had died.

Andy, sorry dont want to be a pain but could a person ie Robert say he had 20 children and 10 died,a bit melodramtic, and this would of been put down on the census.

No confusion at all Terry.
The information is contained on the original image of the 1911 census and is written by the person who completed the census form which would be usually the head of the household.

Hi All.
Please could someone explain to me, that when someone answers your topic with all the info say of the 1911 census,at the bottom it might say that the person in question had 13 children and only 11 are still alive...WHERE DOES ONE GET THIS INFO.whose has wrote this down for the person helping you to put this down.
Sorry if I have confused anyone.
thanks Terry.
