Personally I can never understand wanting to put names on a website and then immediately wanting to hide them - just leave them off altogether......!

On the other side of the coin, if you are concerned about hiding too many names born within the 120 year cut off when using GR's hide option, then just enter an approx year of death for them.

Hello GF
I've always found the 120 year ban very annoying as it cuts out so many people. I just put "Living" or just don't put living people on here.

I use the same method as grannyfranny.........- Living relative and dates. My OH and I are on in our names. I often wonder why the 120 year ban....I mean, how many people do you know who are over 108 or so????
:-D :-D :-D

Ken is correct. However I chose to call mine 'living relative' or 'living partner', and put DOB on or other info on. They still won't come up in a search. And if you use the GR method, unless you put date of death on anyone born since 1892 they won't appear.

If you go to "My Account" there is an option at the bottom of the page to hide Living Relatives. That works for those born in the last 120 years for whom no death date is given.

Morning Sue!

I don't think you can. I think you have to describe them as 'living' - no names attached. Strictly speaking, you should only only put living members onto your tree with their permission. If you have a look in Help it gives you more info.

Happy New Year.......Cx.

Hi Genes menbers.

Firstly a Happy New Year to you all from OZ.

I have put a number of dates and names in my tree that are living people .

How do I make this information not seen by others that I have given entry to my tree.

Thankyou for any help you may be able to give me.

Suex :-)
