I have looked at the 1911 census for some relatives but the infirmities column is still 'hidden' - anyone else had this problem please ?

This is on GR.

Just got an email from FMP and 1911.co.uk saying that the infirmity section is now uncovered.

Found this bit of the email quite funny!

""As well as new information about your family's health, it's also possible to catch a glimpse of your ancestors' eccentricities and humour. The census image on the right shows us that Percy Larrad from Lincs recorded his sister-in-law Eliza Rebecca Frith as having a 'bad temper'!

Other examples we've found in the infirmity column include, 'A taste for drink combined with gout', 'stron and hearty would like to be married' and 'sound as a bell thank god'. Don't miss your chance to get this rare insight into your ancestors' personalities.""

Can't wait until my families are uncovered to see if they had put anything funny down!

I have sent this message through ancestry:

Why is the infirmity column still blocked off, please?
In accordance with the 100 year privacy rule, the column should be visible now. Thank you.

Nice one Joy! let us know what the reply is.

one of my ancestors was in Hospital in 1911, but i don't know why, so i'm hoping it will say what was wrong when the colum gets uncovered.

well i hope so, mine was in Bracebridge Heath Asylum. But he dosen't even show up on the search. Can't seem to find him even on the census for 1911 so it looks like they are holding on to the Asylum and Hospital records.
:-D

If you want 1911 FMP census for anyone just say. Bracebridge Asylum records are there, assuming same place, in Lincs.

Hi Jan,
I'm after a Bridget Glass b.1890 in Salford.
In 1911 she is a patient in a salford Hospital. Aged 21.
(in 1901, she is with her family in Salford.)
She then must have been moved to Prestwich asylum at some point, as she died there in 1919 aged 30. her mum is named on the death cert, with a salford address.
