Hello,

I have found some of my relatives on the 1851 census and it says born in Kerry Montgomeryshire 1803 but I cannot find any reference to Kerry anywhere
anyone know anythng about Kerry or any ideas

There is a place called Kerry just south-east of Newtown. Not sure if that's the place you are looking for.

There are some people on the 1851 census who are living in Newtown who give their place of birth as Kerry, Montgomeryshire (not sure if these are the same people as you are looking at. It doesn't give a surname for them but the head of the household is called John Davis).

I use Memory-Map and on there the place is given as Kerry/Ceri.

Kerry was a detached part of the old county of Montgomery, now part of Powys.
