hello

can anyone help me,
i am looking at the new electoral records for London, but there are so many results that come up i dont know where to start.
how do i narrow them down, there doesn't seem to be a lot of options in the search boxes to narrow it down
how do i find out people living at the same address.
and what do all the numbers letters in the columns mean.
what time of year were these taken

any help would be appreciated, otherwise i can see myself on my laptop for a long long time :-)

many thanks

For a start have a look at this thread http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.page/board/genealogy_chat/thread/1289710
It gives the meanings of the letters. The numbers are the house numbers in the street.

As for narrowing them down there is not a lot you can do if you don't know where they lived, apart from searching for the most unusual firstname in the household.

From 1953 the qualifying date was in October, before that it was around June or July. The date the list is compiled is given in one of the early images of that district (usually page 3).

thanks for all your answers
, what age did they go on the list i thought it would be at least 18, but my mum is on there in 1959 and she was born in may 1944. its definitely her as she is with her sister and my granddparents etc. but she would only have been 15! :-S
