mother's name on Baptism record 1785

Hello

Just a quick question

I have found two separate records for the same baptism in 1785 both of which show the mother's name rather than that of the father. It doesn't state on either that the child is illegitimate but how likely is this?

Thanks

If only the mother is named, I would say that it is very likely that the child was illegitimate.

Can you see a later marriage for the mother?
Maybe the witness names will help decide if it is the same woman...
