Try on Scotlandpeople for a death of either John or Helen.or a marriage for one of the children these will fall in the civil registration era ,,,,,any of these entries will give the maiden name of Helen.......but its a pay per view site so credits have to be bought,

so they were married after the first child was born and while helen was preg with second,ive got a john born 1841 in my records though...xx :-)

thank you for that,i thought marriage between 1841-42,but looking at that i think maybe earlier,i really need to know helens maiden name,
the name margaret findley really makes me happy,ive been trying to find a connection between the DAVIDSONS,MCDONALDS and FINDLEYS,ie looked on ancestry at these censeses less than an hour ago and didnt see margaret findley. thank you so much for taking the time to look them up for me,very interesting.x :-)

So at best you would be looking at old parish registers on SP

i subscribe to ancestry and they do not have scottish marriages.
Im looking for the marriage between,
JOHN DAVIDSON and HELEN. in CULLEN SCOTLAND
the first child GEORGE was born in CULLEN in 1843.so would be looking at a marriage for about 1841-42.could anyone help me please.x thank you. :-D
