My son has sent a small part of the page - it's the best he could do as it doesn't seem to want to let us save the whole page.

You're welcome Lorraine. When my son has finished watching a programme on TV I will ask him how I can download the image and send it to you if possible (not sure if we can still send images through Genes message service or not). I tried to save the image myself but I can't seem to find where it has saved on the computer. As you can tell I'm not very bright with the computer!!

NOTTINGHAM BORN MUSICIAN DEAD

ORGANIST WHO CONDUCTED OPERATIC SOCIETY

CONCERT TOUR OF AMERICA

The death is announced at Madison (Wisconsin) of Mr. Charles Henry Mills, the Nottingham born musician and director, at the age of 64.

Mr. Mills studied at the Guildhall School of Music, London, and first went to America in 1892, when he made a concert tour as a pianist.

He was organist of various choirs in Great Britain, and had a close association with Aberdeen where from 1898 - 1900 he was conductor of the Operatic Society. In the latter year he also became city organist of Aberdeen, and six years later took up a position of Borough Organist at Salford.

A member of the Royal College of Music, London and a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists, London, Mr. Mills had composed a number of works.

Among these was a Magnificat in F, for chorus and soli (1910). A musical setting of Dryden's Ode to St. Cecilia, for double chorus soli and full orchestra and music for "Wreck of the Hesperus".

Mr. Mills married Miss Caroline Miller of Edinburgh in 1908. There is one child, a son.

There are thousands of articles from the Nottingham Evening Post in 1937. It's the first time I've looked at these records so can you tell me what number page the article you want is on please?

EDIT - I've found it now. However it won't let me copy and paste so if you give me a while I will type it out for you.
