Many thanks Teresa, your information appears to fit as the party who are interested in the Flannerys thought Julia emigrated to Australia, the name Slattery rings a bell with them. Now it would appear that Julias mum was a Slattery prior to marriage. Your information could prove invaluable thanks again its much appreciated.

There is a Julia Flannery aged 22 and a John Flannery aged 20, who is a baker, both from Nenagh going to New York on 12 Oct 1910. They are going to their Uncle....looks like Patk(?) Slattery, 406 Washington St, Troy, NY. They state that relative in place of departure as an aunt, Mrs Ryan of Barrack St, Nenagh.

I am searching John Flannery and family from Nenagh born circa 1865.
The 1901 census.
John Flannery 36 Head of family Baker.
Mary Flannery 35 Wife.
Willie Flannery 14 Son.
John Flannery 11 "
Julia Flannery 12 Daug.
Michael Ryan 40 Lodger. Farmer.

Adress was 13 Silver St Nenagh.
I have been unable to locate them post 1901 either in Ireland or UK. I do know William married Elizabeth McCormack in Liverpool in 1939, it is known he changed his name from Flannery to Gould. The marriage index has him recorded as William Flannery married Elizabeth McCormack and also as William Gould married Elizaberth McCormack, same index number 8b-415.
When he changed his surname and why is not known, would I be correct in thinking the name change was via Deed Poll due to his marriage records nothing both surnames.
Its understood that Possibly Julia emigrated to Australia (year unknown) . Also possibly there was also a Michael Flannery (same family) who may have emigrated to the U.S.A. and had at some time been involved with Irish Nationalist causes, its believed he was born post 1901.
Any help concerning the above family would be appreciated.

PS. Silver St Nenagh in 1911 census shows massive changes of residents compared to 1901 plus the house numbering system appears to have been altered, or possibly the street was renamed and swopped with a different street. Any ideas on that also welcome.
