What was a "Gell shop"?

I have an ancestor who's occupation is given in the 1901 census as "Errand boy (Gell shop)".
Does anybody know what a gell shop is or was? Other members of the family were bricklayers' labourers so I'm wondering if it's something to do with the building trade. I tried Googling it but I just got pages and pages of hair products!
The entry can be found by searching the 1901 census for John Parker, born 1885 in Guildford, Surrey. The entry is the third name down on the original image.
Thanks in advance....

FMP has it transcribed as Cycle Shop - if you look at the original it does look like Cycle Shop. The 'C' and the 'y' have joined together to look like a 'G' and the second 'c' looks a bit like an 'e'.
