Learnt of a new book on our local radio this morning detailing diaries written by Edith Appleton, who was a nurse in WW1 in France. There is a website http://www.edithappletonco.uk, which has many extracts from the diaries and has a list of the names of all the people mentioned in them i.e. nursing staff, doctors, wounded men, friends, etc. Well worth a look.
