Having trouble getting on site tonight, but just to mention it is worth googling 'Daniel Buckley Macroom' there are several entries coming up that mention other Buckley's there.

From 1901 census - I think the family hails from Macroom, at least that is the impression I have from another thread:

I shall bring forward for you a very useful thread on Irish research for you to explore.

Did he stay in Ireland? If so, have you looked for him on the 1901 and 1911 census?

EDIT Might be stretching credibility a bit, but there is an 80-year old John Buckley shoemaker on the 1901 Irish census. He is in Cork, but a long way from where Daniel married - some 80 miles or so!

Unwise to assume that anyone - particularly a male - was born in the place in which he married

There are a few Daniels father John unfortunately! I should say, my query re. the census reports sort of assumed he was in England, silly me.

Do you know where in Ireland he was born?

There is a Daniel baptised in 1842 in Kerry, father John

several actually, so would be difficult to pin down

You won't get a birth cert for 1844. I think registration started 1864.

Have you tried Familysearch site?
Have you found him on any census reports?
