I'm new to GR and have a quick question are you able to save your tree under another name for a back up, if so how? :-S

You could down load it as a gedcom copy to your own computer, but you would need a family history programme installed to be able to read it. You would lose all attached records etc.
You could also save it to an external storage device (flash drive etc) once downloaded in case your main computer goes pftzzz.

You could also open a free account, down the load the gedcom on your paying account to your computer, then upload to the free version.

The tree is stored on genes not your PC so even if your PC goes kaput you can access it from any PC by logging into Genes site

After all the time, money and effort put into a tree surely it is wise to back up everything. no matter where it is stored under the present climate.

Only wanted back up because I have made the odd mistake :-D entering data which has resulted in me having to delete large amounts of my tree to fix a previous version would have been of some help ;-).

Thanks to all for your comments
