The name may not be the registered birth christian name, possibilty 1911 was a used second christian name or a shortened version?

Going clockwise, Peterhead's neighbouring parishes are Cruden, Longside and St Fergus. By a historical quirk, St Fergus was in a detached bit of Banffshire thru 1891, when the boundary changes moved this detached bit into Aberdeenshire. I don't know if this would have had any effect on your searches.

Perhaps putting in too much information

Leave out place of birth

HI thanks for answering,
I have searched with, variants, soundex, and the options for similar names and names that begin with J.

I'm thinking that perhaps the information on the census was wrong and the child was not born/died Aberdeen, but maybe some where else.
My Granddad was born Peterhead the other siblings I new about where born Aberdeen.

Never tried the advanced search option

This comes up with a box below it

Filter search results to have only records that include any of these words (or match the advanced query):

Are you searching on "exact" as sometimes "variants" might be a better option

Hi
does any one know if you can find a child/children of a set of parents by just using the parents information on Scotlands people?

I have just looked at the 1911 census for my granddad, and he had an elder sister that I knew nothing about.According to the Census the parents had 11 children 7 died and four were living.
I've just wasted my credits.
I entered the info for the 9 year old girl as per the census and went either side of what the birth date should have been, but can find nothing,no birth and no death and no marriage!
It must be me.
So any advice/tips that will help me search would be very much appreciated

Thanks
