Thank you for the suggestions so far...

Yes I have found that if I leave the page for long enough (over 40 seconds usually) it does display with the overlaid box which says
"Explore Upgraded Website Now", which I then have to close.

I'm not used to waiting that long - even for GR pages.

I have it tagged under Familysearch custom search IGI page.
Haven´t tried it today, but it was working yesterday. It´s slow, but you get there eventually.

Thanks Jimimy Scozzie and Kath, Jiminy's link works, the one I was using was
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/default.asp
The box on the new seach page that says Go To Previous Site also fails for me as it gives the same URL.

You can get the old search by clicking on the "help" button on the new search and right at the bottom of the screen on the right hand side is a link to the old search.

isn't there a link on NEW family search to get to the OLD one?

Kense

Kense Report 24 Mar 2012 21:51

I find that using IE9 (with or without compatibility view) there is a blankpage obliterating the old search. Using Chrome I can access the old search and the blank page is now a closable window promoting the use of the new search.

Lancs OPCs for St Mary Dalton-in-Funess have a couple of Marriages (Bishops Transc) for Woes...earliest 1500s later 1690s and early 1700....

The above plus all the "Woes" are on family search ...Dalton-in-Furness.

I tried the IGI for submitted baptisms, but although there are several they just say c 1613 Dalton or Dalton in Furness and don't give a parent.

Probably because the new family search no longer incorporates submitted data. That is because so much of it was unreliable.

You used to be able to use the old search still but that seems to have been blanked out.
