THE tower has many residences Here he is a grocer

Amongst the Yeoman warders there are brush makers, Tobacco and fruit sellers, it is worth reading all the 10 pages to get a picture of life in the Tower.

Joseph Report 27 Mar 2012 20:38

Just found a relative Thomas Clarke [b1812c] located at 'The Tower, The Tower of London' in the 1841 census with his wife Mary. Seems like an odd address and I know later on there was a great fire [Oct 1841]. Anybody come across this before or know why you would give the Tower as an address - maybe work related although he later became a silk weaver?

Thanks,

Joe
