Kay
Send me what you need and I will be happy to help, if I can.
I could also take photos of places if you need them

That is a thought as my husband does have relatives from the Ashford area of Kent.

I will relook at them.

Thanks Kay

Thank you K

I too like researching at Record Offices and have been to Hereford some years back, but have found more folk since then.

Like you I have no ancestors in my now home area.
Anything you want in this far south east corner?

Look forward to hearing from you. I do enjoy visiting the Record Office but sadly have no ancestors that live locally

That's really kind.
Thank you so much.

Any time will be great. They are not going anywhere!

I will check through my notes and send you a pm, if that's OK.

I live in Herefordshire and go into Hereford occasionally and do enjoy going to the Record Office so am happy to look this up for you. As I can only go on a Friday and they are closed next Friday due to Easter it may be a couple of weeks if that is OK?

Are there any other people you would like checking while I am there?

Kay

PS Just checked the batch number for the parish on Family Search (C138561) and I couldn't see a Jane of the right age, but she could have been missed or christened in an adjoining parish

Thank you Margee.
Yes that is my Jane bapt. 1807.

It is her mother's details that I am now trying to find.
You have the correct couple, although maps show her birth village as Blakemere.
If I could find registers for the village and they checked out, I would be happier adding Jane BAITES to my tree.

If I'm looking at the correct one on the 51 census it says he was born Peterchurch and she in Blakemore.

Is that your Jane who was christened in 1807?

Margee
What I meant was that I don't know if Jane BAITES who married Daniel JONES in Madley is definitely the Jane who is with A Daniel JONES in the 1851 census.
Also that Jane may have been a widow, then I wouldn't be finding her as BAITES.

I know that I descend from Daniel's daughter Jane, who married first in 1834, but I found that she was his daughter when he was named on her 2nd marriage certificate in 1857.

I do always work backwards and I want extra evidence that I have the correct people before including them in my tree.

Not always easy with JONES :-)

You say she MAY be a direst ancestor? Don't you work backwards? If so, from which child do you descend?

Please does anyone have access to the above?

I am looking for a baptism of Jane BAITES .b. abt.1774 in Blakemere, Herefordshire ( as shown on 1851 census married to Daniel JONES in Madley, Herefordshire)
IGI shows a marriage of Daniel JONES to Jane BAITES on 29th May 1804 at Madley and I'd like to check if there is a corresponding baptism in the stated birth parish please.
She may be a direct ancestor.
