Suicide list

I think to be honest the best way is to do your tree as fully as possible as Kathleen has suggested....you should be able to find deaths for the aunts/gt aunts or female 'aunties' by marriage ( eg cousins wifes) with 'obvious' names and eliminate them and then see if any other names stand out as a possible for Tam (Tamara/Tamsin?)

Thanks every one.

I am looking in I think the Hertfordshire area of the UK. From memory Auntie Tam had a son a little younger than me so probably born in the mid/late 70s, she was very young herself, which is why I am not sure of the generational gap.

I wondered if there was a list, maybe not specifically of suicides, but of the results of inquests since I believe they are in the public domain.

As far as I am aware by blood I only ever had an uncle, he died in the early 80s and was single with afaik no children.

I think I might have to call this one a dead end until I have time to just go through all the deaths and see if I can find any familiar names.

I am wondering what is so special about a suicide that would suggest there would be a special list :-D :-D

In which part of the world was this? You haven't given any indication of location

I don't think you will find a list of suicides anywhere.

Do you have the names of all of your parents siblings - or perhaps your grandparent's siblings? If you went through all the names and tried to find one that could be shortened to Tam you could perhaps look through death records using that name as a start.

What area did the family live?

Unless you know the ladies full name and buy her death certificate you will never find out.

However, if you do find her name and the date/area that she died you could look in local paper to see if a coroners inquest was held and reported.

There is no suicide list.

Hi, I am trying to track down a lady who was possibly an aunt or cousin. All I remember is being at a family 'do' in ?1993 and hearing that auntie Tam had committed suicide. Sadly there is no one left to ask for details, I'm not even sure who's relative she was. So I wondered if there is a list anywhere of inquest reports with suicide as the verdict.
Macabre, but its about the only way I can think of to find her.
Thanks for any help you can give.
