Brilliant find CRG - it is definitely Jex, as the 1st letter is identical to the J in Jane found further up.
Well done indeed.
Horsehair weaver is her occupation, not her husband's though.

penny, ellen is my dads 1st cousin 2x removed.Her mother Hannah is my dads grandfathers sister ,so his great grand aunt.

ellen emma tex is a inmate in the home of mercy in highgate she is married a horsehair weaver born 1886 norwich had alook at the name and it could be a t or a j so she could be who you are looking for.

unfortunately some of the asylums, as indeed the prisons or other institutions, listed the inmates by initial only, which makes life difficult for research :-(

Ellen Emma Goffin dob 1886 Norfolk.
Married to Albert Edward Jex dob 1887 Norfolk.
Marriage 1905 Norwich.
The last i have of Ellen is 1901c
I have Albert with his parents in 1911c stated as married but cannot find Ellen .
I did find a child Ellen Emma Jex 1907 born and died ,poss could have been thier child .The 1911 with Albert says he had 3 live child births 3 deaths of children.
Any help would be appreciated.

Now thats anothing thing i can't find.She seems to have dissapeared .
I have searched all the sites in case one had it and the other did'nt.
Any ideas.
I't only a theory that she's in an asylum as like i say i can't find her.

The institution will appear on the normal census records - inmates were often recorded only by initials and surname

Can anyone tell me if there are records for asylums in and around Norfolk for about 1911.

I'm looking for a relative who i think could be in an asylum due to loosing 3 children.Have found her husband but she's not there and can't find her on any 1911c
