With regards to my initial post. I was able to obtain the following:

"OX St Peter B" in the Oxfordshire Parish Marriage Index 1538 to
1837 is "St.Peter-le-Bailey".

There are TWO different St.Peter parishes in Oxford: St.Peter-in- the-East
and St.Peter-le-Bailey. They are on opposite sides of the central Oxford
crossroads (which is known by the Latin name of Carfax). St.Peter-le-Bailey
is at the west end of Queen Street and St.Peter-in-the-East a good half-mile
away at the east end of the High Street.

For a map of the parishes in the City of Oxford please visit:
http://www.ofhs.org.uk/web/parmapCity/index.html

Like many others, the parish of St.Peter-le-Bailey was subject to
fluctuations in religious fashion, from Puritanism to the High Church of the
Oxford Movement. In 1961 it was united with the neighbouring parish of
St.Ebbe's.

St.Peter-le-Bailey parish lay just inside the mediaeval City walls - hence
the name - but in 1874 the church was demolished for road widening. Rebuilt
a litle further north in New Inn Hall Street, it became the chapel for
St.Peter's College. The old site has been paved and given a few shade trees
and bench seats. It is now known as Bonn Square.

Hi

I have been given the following information regarding a marriage of a Robert Keyte to a Mary Marshall on the 25th March 1767. They were married at OX St Peter (B).

I am assumming that the OX is meaning Oxford and St Peter possible mean's St Peter's Church. But have no inkling of what the B would mean?

Is it possible that anyone could enlighten me please.

Thank you in advance.

George Keyte
